Ideas List - How to Organize Your Ideas List
Ideas List - How to Organize Your Ideas ListAs a thought tool, ideas list is a powerful tool. However, when the list has more than 500 ideas, it can become difficult to see them all.So what should be included in an ideas list? In general, you want to put some of your best, most important ideas here. Put the others down in order of relevance to the problem at hand. You'll then have a section for ideas that are less important and one that can't be used but is fun to think about.Don't try to write this list after the brainstorming session. It's always a good idea to write down your ideas as you develop them. This way you have them at hand and they don't become scattered. This also helps you organize the ideas. Try to use your brain and not your notebook. You'll find that the more diverse your group is, the more different ideas you'll find. Therefore, this section should include a lot of different thoughts.Once you've had time to organize this section, the next step is to brainstorm. Usin g your lists you should set the stage for the brainstorming session. In general, the session should start with some kind of activity that encourages some new thinking.Write down a list of group activities that encourage brainstorming. Not every group can participate in each activity, so take into account which groups might not be able to work together. Find the activities that are both fun and relevant to the problem. They should all promote open and honest communication.Communication is key to solving a problem. By brainstorming together, you will get a better feel for what you're talking about and start to develop better ideas. At the end of the brainstorming session, summarize your thoughts. What worked and what didn't work, will help you make improvements in your future brainstorming sessions.
